(greeting
of Islam)
Dear Bright Star;
Being able to understand and accept cultures around the world is a goal
of this Blog. Therefore it is good that you have come to explain to us
further about Islam. It seems that you feel confused over the lack of
respect of your religion. It seems to you that the Muslims in the
countries of Iraq and Afghanistan are defending their homelands. And it
seems that the aggressive acts of the US, and its Allies are unprovoked
and undeserved. While I can acknowledge that there may be good and
loving things included in your religion, I cannot focus on them until
the killing of innocents by Muslims stops.
Here is some history that you may be too young to remember:
The state of Israel, re-established in 1947 by the UN, following the
Holocaust and World War II. From that time until the 1967 war, some
people of Syria used the Golan Heights to fire sniper shots into
Israel. At the same time, the government of Syria closed the Suez Canal
to Israeli use. It was the only seaport for receiving important goods.
These acts provoked war by Israel, to gain control over the Golan
Heights (and stop the sniper fire). The also took the west bank, to
regain their shipping rights.
Since then, the acts of terrorism by Muslim suicide bombers have struck
Israelis at funerals, at schools, at bar mitzvahs and weddings. They
have killed thousands of innocents in Kenya, Great Britain and the
United States. These bombers have killed babies and children, parents,
grandparents, friends and neighbors. The president of Iran, a Muslim,
recently threatened to use nuclear bombs to wipe Israel off the map. I
hope that you will take the time to address these issues.
You feel that your homeland is under attack. That is correct thinking.
It is not about Allah or Mohamed to us. Had Osama bin Laden had walked
out of Afghanistan to answer to the world court, the US would not have
had to go looking for him. If groups of militia hadn't sworn to kill
Jews, then been housed, hid and educated in Afghanistan and Iraq and
other Muslim countries, I can't imagine why your country would be
invaded.
I would like to say that I personally do not advocate for war and
killing as a way to solve problems. I believe that the most evolved can
and should work toward negotiation with respect for each other. But
that involves an end to terrorist activities. NO ONE DESERVES TO SUFFER
FROM ACTS OF TERRORISM.
What are you and other peaceful Muslims doing to stop the terrorism?
Thanks for your communication.,
Michelle
